SPECSAVERS OPENS 41st STORE AT NUTGROVE SHOPPING CENTRE
Specsavers’ latest store opened today in Nutgrove Shopping Centre Rathfarnham, creating 15 full and part time jobs in the area.
The opening marks a significant milestone for the company as the 41st Specsavers store to open in Ireland since 1991. It is also the second new store to open in the country this month. Specsavers currently employs 850 people nationwide and most of the 71 store directors, who own and run the businesses, are Irish.
Situated in a prime location within the busy Nutgrove Shopping Centre the new store covers 1000 square feet and includes on-site testing rooms and lab, to provide a quick turn around on prescription glasses.

The two testing rooms on site are overseen by optometrists and store directors Owen Blee and Catherina McGlennon, while seven optical assistants are on hand to ensure a high level of service. Customers can avail of state of the art eye testing facilities, including digital retinal photography. This sophisticated process uses a camera to produce detailed images of the back of the eye that can assist in the detection and management of a variety of health issues, including diabetes, inflammatory disorders, age related macular degeneration, vascular occlusions and tumours.
Those seeking the latest in fashionable glasses need look no further than Specsavers in Nutgrove, which carries affordable designer ranges from top brands such as GW by Gok Wan, fcuk, Jasper Conran, Tommy Hilfiger, Red or Dead, Bench, Quiksilver, Roxy, Timberland and Karen Millen.
In addition to being experts in eye health, Specsavers in Nutgrove also features a hearing centre, providing free consultation, hearing tests and aftercare with professional hearing aid audiologists.
Specsavers Nutgrove will be testing eyes seven days a week from Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat 9.30am-6pm, Thurs 9.30am-9pm and Sun 12pm-6pm. Customers can expect great value offerings at Specsavers, in both eyecare and hearing services, with medical cards and PRSI accepted. As experts in contact lenses, Specsavers will have an on-site lab offering a one-hour service to customers.
